Is that your experience? It certainly is mine. Maybe you aren't sure. How can you tell? Well there are the obvious ones where you have received a message from God that he will do something and when you look back you realise he has. Like sending Jesus to die and rise again so that we might have eternal life. Maybe he's told you he's going to do something in your life and he has - he's been faithful.
Maybe you can see his faithfulness in someone else's life. Maybe it's in an answer to prayer in your or someone else's life.
Maybe it's not so obvious and you have to look back over your life to recognise it. Maybe you need someone else to help you see it.
Whichever it is - as you enter 2020, and look forward to all it brings, my prayer is that like Thomas O Chisholm who wrote that great hymn - Great is thy faithfulness, that you can see how faithful God has been and is and so you know you can trust him this year.
Here's a link to one rendition of this great hymn and here's the lyrics - maybe they might prompt you to remember how God has been faithful in your life (after all if you are reading this you have experienced his faithfulness this morning - the sun rose (even if you can't see it behind the clouds today)).
Chorus "Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!" Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed thy hand hath provided "Great is thy faithfulness," Lord, unto me!
V1
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my father,
There is no shadow of turning with thee;
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
As thou hast been thou forever shall be.
V2
Summer and winter, springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
V3
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Chorus
"Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!"
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed thy hand hath provided
"Great is thy faithfulness," Lord, unto me!
Have an awesome week knowing how great is God's faithfulness.
Blessings
Peter
