Ministers Monday Moment - You don't know ...

That's what I was told this morning by someone who had received a gift from last weeks reverse offering. Just before 8am I received a phone call from someone in the community who asked that I thank you for the generous gift that he had received. He said he was so grateful and that "You don't know what this means to us."

How are you going with gifting that money to someone else? Are you, like me, wondering how you will know who God wants to receive it?

Maybe my story will help you - Despite promoting this idea I wondered who am I going to give it to. After all most of the people I come in contact with are somehow connected with the church - and as much as I know some of you could benefit from that gift, I didn't feel you were who I was supposed to give it to.

So I prayed that God would show me. As I said last week I knew that he wanted me to take a walk near the church on Friday, and I knew he would show me the house of the person. Late last week I got a "picture" of the house - on a corner with no front fence. So that's what I looked for - The first one I came across had a letter box that was falling apart. I took that as a sign that it wasn't the right house (my thinking being that the envelope could blow away in the wind). Then I saw another house - no front fence, on the corner and that's where I left the envelope, praying that it was the right house.

So don't worry - if you seek God's guidance he will direct you to the right person - who may be a complete stranger, who may be a family member, who may be a member of our church family. Just trust God to get that money where he wants it to go.

Thanks for being HIS hands & feet in this season where we celebrate

the gift he gave us of his son who opened the way to the gift of eternal life.

No matter what you are doing for Christmas may it be a blessed time for you and your family (and I hope to see you at our Christmas services - Christmas Eve Carols by Candlelight (8:30pm) and Christmas Day (10:00am).

Blessings

Peter
